Indiana House District 56 contains sections of Wayne and Henry counties in east-central Indiana on the Ohio border.
Most of the population in the district can be found in the cities of Richmond and New Castle, which offer a number of attractions. Within short driving distance are Earlham College, the Indiana Basketball and Football Halls of Fame, the Levi Coffin State Historic Site and even the highest point in Indiana.
Other major communities in the district are Cambridge City, Centerville, Dublin, East Germantown, Milton, Mount Auburn and Straughn.
