St. Joseph County legislators named to 2008 study committees
INDIANAPOLIS —— Indiana House Speaker B. Patrick Bauer (D-South Bend) appointed South Bend area legislators to numerous study committees that will meet this summer and fall.
"The St. Joseph County delegation has a wealth of talent and experience," said Bauer. "I appointed these dedicated lawmakers to a variety of committees where they will play critical roles in the development of legislative initiatives."
The study committees will submit their recommendations in reports to the Indiana General Assembly by November.
STATE REP. RYAN DVORAK (D-South Bend), Indiana House District 8, has been appointed chair of three committees: the Compliance Advisory Panel, the Environmental Crimes Task Force, and the Environmental Quality Service Council. In addition, he will be a member of the Commission on Courts and the Regulatory Flexibility Commission.
STATE REP. CRAIG R. FRY (D-Mishawaka), Indiana House District 5, was named to the Health Finance Commission, the Interim Study Committee on Dialysis Coverage, and the Public Highway Private Enterprise Review Board.
STATE REP. DAVID L. NIEZGODSKI (D-South Bend), Indiana House District 7, will chair the Pension Management Oversight Commission and be the vice chair for the Northwest Indiana Transportation Study Commission. He also will be a member of the Illiana Expressway Proposal Review Committee, the Joint Study Committee on Mass Transit & Transportation Alternatives, and the Midwest Interstate Passenger Rail Compact Commission.
