A message from Committee Chairman Bill Crawford
“The budget-making responsibilities of this committee sometimes seem overwhelming—but with hard work and an eye toward doing what is best for the State of Indiana, this monumental task is accomplished every two years.
“Regardless of what some Statehouse observers may choose to report, a significant number of proposals from both Republicans and Democrats are normally incorporated into much of the legislation that emerges from not only the Ways & Means Committee but most of the bills that make their way to the governor's desk.
“Even during sessions when we are not attempting to craft a two-year budget for the operation of state government in Indiana, any number of fiscal-related issues will be discussed.
“I look forward to all of these discussions as we work to move Indiana forward in education, in economic opportunities, in social advancement, in improved public safety, and in fostering an environment of justice and equality for all citizens of our state.”
