A message from Committee Chairman Phil Hoy
“The American system of justice is founded upon the effective operation of thousands of local, state and federal courts. Here in Indiana, we are fortunate to find our courts staffed by some of our most talented individuals and dedicated public servants.
“The work of this committee is among the most varied of the legislative committees in the Indiana General Assembly. At times, we deal with the seemingly mundane details of legal proceedings. Most of the time, however, the details we address in our committee work can make a tremendously positive impact in ensuring that Indiana's citizens gain access to their justice system in a reasonable and timely manner.
“I know the members of the Indiana House Standing Committee on Courts & Criminal Code take very seriously this responsibility. It is a great honor to serve as the chairman of this committee.”
