(b) The term does not include an the president, a member of the
board of trustees, or any other official or employee of any university,
college, or other educational institution, presently existing or hereafter
established in Indiana, for the purpose of providing programs of
collegiate or university education or other post-high school education
and which is supported in whole or in part by appropriations made by
the general assembly.

"SECTION 8. IC 2-7-5-7 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE AS
A
NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY 1,
2007]:
Sec. 7. (a) This section does not apply to the following:
(1) Compensation paid to an individual under a contract,
employment, or another arrangement that began before the
individual became a member of the general assembly.
(2) Compensation paid to an individual for lecturing or
teaching at an educational institution, whether on a full-time,
a part-time, or an occasional basis.
(b) As used in this section, "educational institution" refers to a
university, a college, or another educational institution that:
(1) provides programs of collegiate or university education, or
other post-high school education; and
(2) is supported in whole or in part by appropriations made
by the general assembly.
(c) An educational institution may not pay a legislator under a
contract, employment, or any other arrangement.".
