SENATE RESOLUTION


     MR. PRESIDENT:

        I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:

    A SENATE RESOLUTION to congratulate the Richmond Roosters for becoming the Frontier League Champions for a second consecutive year.

     Whereas, the Richmond Roosters Team is a professional minor league baseball organization competing in the Independent Frontier League;

    Whereas, since 1995 the Richmond Roosters have provided the State Indiana with exciting baseball for fans of all ages at their home field of McBride Stadium located in Richmond, Indiana;

    Whereas, the Frontier League is composed of twelve teams which battle each year for the coveted Wilson Sporting Goods Frontier League Championship Title;

    Whereas, on September 17, 2002, the Richmond Roosters achieved an accomplishment that no other team had been able to accomplish in the ten year history of the Frontier League. The Richmond Roosters won the title of League Champion for a second consecutive year; and
    


    Whereas, all members of the Richmond Roosters Baseball Team should be proud of their accomplishments: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the

General Assembly of the State of Indiana:


    SECTION 1. That the Indiana Senate congratulates the Richmond Roosters for winning the 2002 Wilson Sporting Goods Frontier League Championship and for winning a back to back Championship, a feat that no other Frontier League Team had been able to accomplish in the League's entire ten year history.
    SECTION 2. The Principal Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the Richmond Roosters and to owners Allen Brady and Rob Quigg.
