A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION honoring Roosevelt Colvin from
the Purdue University Boilermaker football team, Lafayette, Indiana.
Whereas, Roosevelt Colvin, who is a third year starter, is
an aggressive talent who has displayed great speed, tenacity,
and an ability to match up with bigger opponents;
Whereas, Roosevelt Colvin of Indianapolis, Indiana, was
the Hammer Award winner from Purdue University after the
1998 spring practices began;
Whereas, Roosevelt Colvin ranks fifth in Purdue
University's history with 40 tackles for 163 yards in losses
and has career totals of 23 starts and 123 tackles (71 solo);
Whereas, In 1997, Roosevelt Colvin was named to the
second team All-Big Ten team by the media and honorable
mention by the coaches, and was a tri-captain of the team;
and
Whereas, Excellence of this caliber deserves special
recognition: Therefore,
SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly wishes to
recognize the efforts of Roosevelt Colvin and to wish him well in all
future endeavors.
SECTION 2. That the principal clerk of the House of
Representatives transmit a copy of this resolution to the family of
Roosevelt Colvin, the head coach of the Purdue University
Boilermakers, and the President of Purdue University.
