Explore your interests and skills with two simple assessments that will help you decide which careers would be a good fit for you and which level of education will be necessary to complete your plan.
Exploring Your Interests
You can narrow down your career options by taking a career interest inventory from the Indiana Career Explorer, a free tool provided by the State of Indiana. Rank which activities you prefer to do. When you’re finished, your highest interests will be matched with careers that you may enjoy. You will have to create a username and password to use the Indiana Career Explorer, but you can retake the career interest inventory (Kuder Career Search with Person Match) any time you like.
Exploring Your Skills
The Indiana Career Explorer also helps you assess your skills with a skills assessment (Kuder Skills Assessment) that asks how confident you are in accomplishing certain activities. Results list careers that require the skills you have. A work values assessment (Super’s Work Values Inventory-revised) lets you match work-related values with possible careers, too.
