The Indiana Pro Bono Commission defines
pro bono work to mean accepting a legal matter from a low income person, with
the knowledge that payment will not be made to the attorney by the client or other
source. Pro Bono does not mean volunteer efforts, such as time spent serving on
a board or educating the public about a legal issue.
