ORDER APPROVING LOCAL RULE FOR
The judges of the Johnson Circuit and Superior Courts request the approval of new local criminal rules for the initial assignment of criminal cases pursuant to Criminal Rule 2.2, as well as for the assignment of subsequent filings or re-filings of criminal cases. Attached to this order are the proposed local rules, entered in such courts on June 23, 2003. These rules provides for the random assignment of cases except for re-filing and subsequent filings against the same defendant, which will be assigned to the court handling the initial case. Probation revocation cases will also be filed with the court handling the initial criminal case.
Upon examination of the local rule, this Court finds that the proposed local criminal rules comply with Criminal Rule 2.2 and, accordingly, should be approved.
IT IS, THEREFORE, ORDERED by this Court that the proposed local criminal rules, set forth as an attachment to this Order, are now approved, effective June 23, 2003.
The Clerk of this Court is directed to forward a copy of this Order to the judge of the Johnson Circuit Court, to the judges of the Johnson Superior Courts and to the Clerk of the Johnson Circuit and Superior Courts.
The Clerk of the Johnson Circuit and Superior Courts is directed to place a copy of this Order in the Record of Judgments and Orders for such courts and to post this Order for public examination.
