Francis Ingram v. City of Indianapolis

In a declaratory judgment action, the Marion Superior Court concluded the City of
Indianapolis did not have a duty to defend a police officer, Francis Ingram,
in a federal lawsuit alleging Ingram violated the plaintiffs constitutional rights. A
divided Court of Appeals reversed. Ingram v. City of Indianapolis, 759 N.E.2d
1144 (Ind. Ct. App. 2001). The City of Indianapolis petitions to transfer
jurisdiction to the Indiana Supreme Court.
