The Indiana Commission on Judicial Qualifications investigates allegations of judicial ethical misconduct, prosecutes violations of the Code of Judicial Conduct, and advises judges and judicial candidates about their ethical obligations. The Judicial Nominating Commission selected the Hon. Vicki L. Carmichael, the Hon. Christopher M. Goff, and the Hon. Matthew C. Kincaid as the three nominees for the Indiana Supreme Court. The Commission will submit a report to Governor Eric Holcomb in the upcoming days. Once the report is submitted, the Governor has 60 days to appoint one of the nominees to the Court.
The Judicial Qualifications Commission (JQC) has filed disciplinary charges against Dunkirk City Court Judge Tommy D. Phillips, II. The JQC alleges one count of misconduct related to a March 2017 conviction for Battery Against a Public Safety Official. Judge Phillips has 20 days to file an answer to the charges.
