| Justice Brent E. Dickson with Clerk Lynne Spevak |
Indiana Supreme Court Justice Brent E. Dickson made a surprise visit to the Association of Clerks of the Circuit Courts of Indiana summer conference June 22 to present awards to the current and past president of the association.
Past president Lynne Spevak, who has also been appointed to the Case Management System Governing Board, was given a Certificate of Appreciation signed by each member of the Indiana Supreme Court.
“Lynne has been a key participant and has shared her expertise with the Case Management System Project team since its inception,” said Justice Dickson. “Lynne has not only had the best interests of the Clerks in mind but also what is best for the state as a whole.”
Justice Dickson thanked Spevak for her dedication to the vision for a 21 st century case management system that will benefit the courts, the clerks and all Hoosiers.
A Certificate of Appreciation was also given to Linda Grass, current president of the Association of Clerks of Circuit Courts of Indiana
Grass has provided significant assistance with the very important initiative that JTAC is undertaking with the Bureau of Motor Vehicles to allow electronic transfer of conviction information to the BMV.
Speaking to the conference audience of more than 200, Justice Dickson outlined how important the new BMV project will be to the state of Indiana.
“As evidenced by the letter that all of you received from Chief Justice Shepard, Governor Mitch Daniels, Joel Silverman and Linda, and with a federal mandate bearing down on all the states, Linda has pledged her support to help with this project,” he said.
More information on the electronic transfer of convictions to the BMV will be available in the coming weeks and JTAC will be sharing information with clerks as soon as it becomes available.
