Garnett Watson

Garnett Watson has worked thirty-five years in various aspect of Law Enforcement. Currently he is a Manager in Global Security for Eli Lilly & Company.  His prior positions include: Public Safety Director and Chief of Police for the City of Gary, Indiana. He also was Director of Security for Community Hospital in Munster, Indiana; Executive Director of the Lake County High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA), one of the twenty-six HIDTAs designated by Congress.  In addition he served twenty-two years with the Lake County Sheriff’s Department, retiring as the Deputy Chief of Police.  Garnett is an army veteran who served in Viet Nam, as a cryptanalyst. He is a graduate of Calumet College of St. Joseph and is the  2006 recipient of the Brother Gerard Von Hagel Alumni Award, which recognizes outstanding accomplishments by an alumnus.
