Justice Donald Herbert Hunter
(Ninety-fourth Justice)
Justice Hunter was born October 21, 1911, in Anderson, Indiana,
and died
October 27, 1991, in LaGrange, Indiana.
In 1937 he received an LL.B. from the Lincoln Law School and was
admitted to the Indiana bar. He served in the Indiana House of Representatives,
as a deputy attorney general of Indiana, as a hearing officer with
the Public Service Commission, and then from 1948 to 1962 as a circuit
judge. In 1963, he joined the Indiana Court of Appeals, and was
chief judge in 1966. In 1967, he joined the Indiana Supreme Court.
He served as a justice until 1985, when he reached the mandatory
age of retirement.362
He was also a member of the Indiana Constitutional Revision Commission
from 1967 to 1971.363 |
