The Indiana Supreme Court will hold a free CLE event, “Hoosier Justice at Nuremberg,” on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 from 3:00 - 4:15pm. Due to the tremendous response for this program it will be held in the Indiana House Chambers (Statehouse).

This is a free CLE event sponsored by the Indiana Supreme Court Legal History Lecture Series with funding from the Indiana Commission for Continuing Legal Education. It has been assigned course number #109089 for 1.3 hours. Registration will be completed at the door.

About the Event

At the conclusion of World War II, the victorious Allies were charged with the difficult task of assigning and partitioning blame for the crimes committed by Nazi Germany and the other European Axis powers during the war.

These tribunals, trying German military officers and civilians, convened between 1945 and 1949 in Nuremburg, Germany. This CLE will highlight the service of former Indiana Supreme Court Justices Frank Richman and Curtis Shake who were a part of the American judicial presence.

The program will conclude with a brief overview of the current international crisis in Kenya and whether or not military tribunals might become necessary.

The speakers will answer questions following the presentations.
