Justice Morris was born January 5, 1861, at Knightstown, Indiana, and died July 8, 1928, in Rushville, Indiana.
He graduated from DePauw University in 1882 and was admitted to the bar the following year in Rushville. He was elected a circuit judge in 1898. When his six-year term expired, he returned to private practice. In the fall of 1910, he was elected to the Indiana Supreme Court. He served as a justice from January 1911 to January 1917.416
