(Thirty-second Justice)
Justice Coombs was born July 17, 1808, in Brunswick, Maine.96 His date and place of death are unknown.
He was educated in the public schools of Cincinnati, Ohio.97 He moved to Connersville, Indiana in 1831, studied law, and was admitted to the Indiana bar in 1834.98 On December 2, 1882, he was appointed to fill the vacancy on the Indiana Supreme Court created by the resignation of Justice Worden.99 He served just one month when he was succeeded on January 1, 1883 by Justice Zollars.100
