The Indiana Supreme Court will host a free CLE presentation featuring a newly published book on the history of Indiana law, Chief Justice Randall T. Shepard announced today.
The CLE program features a panel of contributors from the just released The History of Indiana Law. The book is a collection of 15 essays covering a wide range of topics including: Indiana 's constitutional tradition, civil liberties, race relations, women's rights, family law, welfare and the poor, education, crime and punishment, juvenile justice, the role of the courts and judiciary, and landmark cases. It was held on Thursday, June 15, 2006 in the Indiana Supreme Court Courtroom.
The History of Indiana Law was created in cooperation with the Indiana Bar Foundation and was published by the Ohio University Press. It is the second title in a series on Law, Society and Politics in the Midwest. The book will be available for purchase at a discount through the Indiana Historical Bureau
A total of 1.3 hours of CLE has been approved for the event, which is part of a continuing project, the Indiana Supreme Court Legal History Lecture Series.
