Tours & Reservations

The Indiana War Memorials consist of the Soldiers & Sailors Monument, University Park, the World Wars Memorial, Veteran's Memorial Plaza, American Legion Mall and the USS Indianapolis Memorial. They are operated by the Indiana War Memorials Commission to commemorate the valor and sacrifice of Hoosier veterans of our nation's conflicts and to provide for the education and enjoyment of visitors.

Museums:

There are two Indiana War Memorial Museums. A "time-line" museum of Indiana's role in our nation's conflicts is housed in the lower level of the Indiana War Memorial building. The Colonel Eli Lilly Civil War Museum is in the lower level of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument. The Civil War Museum is open from open 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Wednesday - Sunday. The Indiana War Memorial Museum is open 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Wednesday - Sunday. The War Memorial Building and the museums are closed on Monday, Tuesday and on some national holidays. There is no admission charge for either museum.

Tours and Group Visits:

Groups are always welcome during operating hours. Veteran group tours or Bus group tours during non-operating hours and/or guided tours may be available given sufficient advanced notice. School group tours must be given during regular operating hours. Tour groups should register in advance. Registered tours will take precedence over unscheduled groups.
