2011 IURC Communications Survey
The IURC gathers data to provide the legislature with timely information about communications issues. The IURC Communications Survey is a valuable tool that provides current, accurate information in order to help analyze communications issues affecting the state of Indiana. State statute requires the Commission to report about the effects of competition and technological change on universal service and pricing of telecommunications services. The statute also requires reporting on the status of competition and technological change in the provision of video services in Indiana.
After June 30, 2009, IC 8-1-2.6-13 (d) (9) (D) requires communications service providers (“CSPs”) to provide information needed by the commission to prepare its report to the Regulatory Flexibility Committee (including the Communications Survey). Failure to cooperate with the Commission could result in the revocation of the certificate of territorial authority (“CTA”) required for providing communications services in the state of Indiana.
