Indiana State Museum Docent Program

Applications to become an Indiana State Museum Docent are now being accepted. Candidates will participate in a rewarding and rigorous training program led by Curatorial and Performing Arts and Education staff. Docents will take part in specialized continuing education opportunities; become volunteer leaders in our galleries, public tours and programs; and serve as instructors and mentors for other volunteers and future docents.

Training begins Wednesday, September 19, and continues through a twenty-week schedule with breaks for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Training will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. once a week, and docents are asked to commit to two years of service with at least 150 hours of participation each year.

If you think this exciting opportunity is right for you, please contact the Volunteer Center for an application. Applications must be received by August 15, 2007. Once your application is received, it will be reviewed and you may be contacted to set up a personal interview.
