There are great educational opportunities at the Gene Stratton-Porter State Historic Site for public and private school groups. Students of all ages can tour Gene Stratton-Porter’s home on Sylvan Lake, the grounds of her Wildflower Woods, and her formal garden. Tours complement elementary and secondary studies of Indiana’s history, literature, and natural sciences. Our staff is certified in historical and natural interpretation of Indiana’s environment and Gene Stratton-Porter’s role as a best-selling author, photographer, and movie director.  Students can also learn how technology, culture, and family life have evolved since the late 19th century.
