cm_extback.jpgIn addition to the annual haunted house, special activities at Culbertson Mansion State Historic Site include a ghostly tour, an herb sale on the second Saturday in May, summer adventure classes for youths, and a Victorian afternoon tea. The mansion is in New Albany’s historic district, and a stroll through the neighborhood includes many beautiful homes of the same era.

DERBY MURDER MYSTERY EVENINGS
Friday April 18 and Saturday April 19
7 p.m., $12 per person or $18 per couple                                 This murder mystery takes place just before the Kentucky Derby and is based on the Culbertson family in a “Clue” setting. Reservations and payment in advance are required.

VICTORIAN SPRING AFTERNOON TEA
Saturday April 25, 2 - 4 p.m.
Enjoy finger foods and a variety of flavored hot teas in the Culbertsons' formal parlor, followed by a tour of the mansion. $10 per person. Reservations and payment in advance are required. Gift Shop open.

HERB PRE-SALE
Friday May 9, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Get a head start on selecting plants for your herb garden. Prices average $2 to $4. Free admission. Gift Shop open.

HERB SALE
Saturday May 10, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Herb plants ready for your garden planting. Also hanging flower baskets. Free admission. Gift Shop open.

FULL MOON “GHOSTLY HAPPENINGS” TOUR
Monday September 15, 8:30 p.m.                                      Limited to 16 people. $10 per person. Reservations and payment in advance are required. Gift Shop open.

GHOST WATCH UNDERTAKING “SLEEPOVER”
Saturday September 20, 6 p.m. - 6 a.m. Sunday.          Candlelight dinner, ghost tour through the mansion, and a scavenger hunt with prizes for the winners. Ghost watch throughout the night. Continental breakfast for "survivors.” $100 per person;  limited to 13 people. Bring your sleeping bag, but don’t count on getting much sleep! You must be 18 or older. Reservations and payment in advance required.

“LITERALLY, A HAUNTED HOUSE”
Friday and Saturday,  September 26 and 27; October 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, and 25.
Doors open at 7 p.m. Get a real scare going through the haunted carriage house. Not recommended for children younger than 10. (The carriage house is not handicapped-accessible). Tickets are $10 per person at the door. Tickets are not sold in advance. Gift Shop open.

STORYTELLING
Friday and Saturday, October 17, 18, 24, and 25, 7:30, 8:30, and 9:30 p.m.
Each session is limited to 50 people. Adults: $1, Children younger than 12: 50 cents. Gift Shop open.

Tuesday and Wednesday, October 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, and 29, 7:30 and 9 p.m.
Each tour through the mansion is approximately one hour and is limited to 16 people. Light refreshments will be served. The cost is $10 per person. Reservations and payment in advance are required. Gift Shop open.

Enjoy Victorian Christmas decorations, musical entertainment and refreshments. Staff and volunteers in period dress will provide information as you walk through the mansion. Admission $1 per person. Gift Shop open.

CHRISTMAS WITH THE CULBERTSONS
Friday and Saturday, December 12 and 13, 7 p.m.
Enjoy the experience of how Christmas was celebrated in the Culbertson household among relatives and the servant staff. Adults: $8, Children younger than 12: $5. Limited seating. Reservations with advance ticket purchases are recommended. Gift Shop open.

VICTORIAN CHRISTMAS AFTERNOON TEA
Sunday December 14, 2 -  4 p.m.
Enjoy beautiful Christmas decorations, music, and tasty treats while sipping a variety of flavored hot teas, followed by a tour of the mansion. $15 per person. Reservations and payment in advance are required. Gift Shop open.
