Student Festival:
Snakes, lizards, amphibians and their caretakers will visit the Indiana State Museum on March 14, 2008, to fascinate and educate school groups and other visitors. Experts from the Hoosier Herpetological Society, the Department of Natural Resources, Indy Parks, and other groups will introduce a variety of cold-blooded creatures and discuss the special needs of snakes and similar pets. DNR staffers will talk about native Indiana species and teach students what to do if they find a turtle or snake. With hands-on activities, educational programs, and anecdotes, this will be an exciting day for teachers and students alike.

Public Festival:
Welcome back to the Indiana State Museum for our annual reptile event. This weekend event will offer even more opportunities to get up close and personal with a variety of critters as well as the opportunity to have a photo taken with your favorite reptile, snake, or amphibian. Join the Hoosier Herpetological Society, "Snakehead Ed" Ferrer and others and meet with Department of Natural Resources and Indy Parks representatives who will be on hand to discuss native species and their populations in Indiana.
This event is included with museum admission and is free for members. School group and homeschool group reservations are required to receive the $1 per student admission fee.
