Looking for something fun to do? The Indiana State Museum features the Hoosier Heritage Trail, an interactive database within its Core Galleries that gives visitors information about other interesting places to explore in our state.
Here’s how it works: The Hoosier Heritage Trail includes 10 stations throughout the museum. Just scan the barcode on your ticket or membership card at any of these stations if you are interested in more information about a gallery’s subject matter.
Let’s say you’re interested in learning more about Native Americans. The station in the Native Americans exhibit includes information on other Native American attractions in Indiana such as Angel Mounds State Historic Site in Evansville, Mounds State Park in Anderson or the Eiteljorg Museum in Indianapolis. You choose just the information you’re interested in saving. The other galleries work just the same way.
The best part is the information you retrieve while you’re at the museum is saved to an electronic folder that’s just for you. You can retrieve your information through the museum’s website when you get home or you can print out the information before leaving the museum and take it with you.
Happy trails!
