Michael Smith

ransom.jpgPerforming as Matthew "Bones" Hooks, The Black Cowboy, and Ransom B. Warfield

Talented Indianapolis-area actor Michael Smith breathes life into the cowboy experience and gives an African American perspective.  He also presents Ransom B. Warfield, a fictional character drawn from the lives of many real-life African American Civil War-era men. Michael brings to life the many challenges and day-to-day activities experienced by a Civil War soldier.

The Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites have a large collection of paintings by Indiana Dunes enthusiast Frank Dudley because the state received one painting per year as "rent" while Dudley was living at the Dunes after his property became part of the state park.
