Bryan Gilbert

Performing as Charles Wiley Blaizdale

A bishop of a group of non-denominational churches, Blaizdale’s story is one of overcoming adversities in his life to become a leader in the black religious community.  Listen to his stories of childhood struggle, the illness of family members and the early rebellion against the church as he weaves a rich tapestry of Indiana life.

The first city in the nation to have electric street lighting was Wabash, which switched on its system in 1880.
