Often found in the O'Bannon Great Hall and in the museum galleries, Discovery Carts are a fun, hands-on way to learn more about the Indiana State Museum's collection. Discovery Carts feature artifacts and objects that visitors can learn more about - and often touch. Special types of Discovery Carts include Ask a Curator carts, featuring the museum's curatorial staff, Ask a Conservator carts, featuring the conservators who care for the museum's collection, and Ask an Expert carts, featuring subject-matter experts.

Visit our Discovery Cart presenters in the O'Bannon Great Hall to learn how Pioneers packed a wagon, the art of flintknapping or the skills needed for taxidermy ... and more!

Robert L. Brokenburr, of Indianapolis, was Indiana’s first African-American state senator.
