Home of one of the world’s largest popcorn producers, Grant County grows nearly 3,000 tons of popcorn annually. Grant County native, James Dean, was born in Fairmont. The 1950s American icon was the star of "Rebel Without a Cause," "Giant" and "East of Eden."
Gene Stratton-Porter, Hoosier naturalist, photographer and author, was born August 17, 1863. Her homes in Rome City and Geneva are preserved as state historic sites.
