Decatur County

Decatur.jpgEst. 1821
(Stephen Decatur)

First noticed in 1870, a series of large-tooth aspen trees has continually grown from the Decatur County Courthouse’s 115-foot-tall clock tower. Each September, the community celebrates this unique feature with the Tree City Fall Festival.

Wonder Bread was created at the Taggart Baking Company in Indianapolis in the 1920s, following the invention of the bread-slicing machine.
