In the fall, visitors flock to Brown County’s oak, maple, hickory and beech forests to view their brilliant colors. The county first gained fame as a mecca for artists and craftsmen who were inspired by the peace and beauty of its forested hills. Bill Monroe, father of American bluegrass music, founded the Bill Monroe Bean Blossom Bluegrass Festival in 1965.
