The 2001 Assessment of Indianas Public Health Clinic Immunization Coverage Levels report provides the results of assessments conducted in 92 local health departments and 33 of the non-health department public providers found in Indiana. Non-health department public providers receive publicly funded vaccine, but are not affiliated with a local health department.
The public provider immunization assessment of 2001 focused on the immunization coverage levels of patients aged 24 through 35 months (i.e. two-year old children), a cohort of children born in 1999, who were seen by public immunization providers. To be considered completely immunized by age two, each child must receive 4 vaccinations for diphtheria, tetanus, and acellular pertussis (DTaP), 3 vaccinations for polio, the first measles mumps, and rubella vaccine (MMR), at least 3 vaccinations for Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) and 3 vaccinations for hepatitis B (HepB). The data contained in this report represents the immunization coverage levels of children who were 24 to 35 months of age at the time of the assessment.
