Hospital Consumer Reports

The Indiana State Department of Health, Acute Care Division, is pleased to make hospital information available to consumers. This information is being made available to help evaluate the availability and quality of hospitals within the state of Indiana. The Division inspects hospitals to assess compliance with state and federal standards. This survey information, along with other information is being provided in a "Hospital Consumer Report" format. These reports may be used to compare information on licensed hositals.

About the Surveys:

 Surveys are unannounced

Surveyors are nurse and medical surveyors

A survey report is sent to the hospital after each survey

If noncompliance with state rules or federal conditions of participation is found in ther survey, then the hospital may submit a plan of correction to the Division

A follow-up survey may be made to verify that compliance has been achieved

Surveyors look at the care provided to a sample of the patients

Surveys only reflect a snapshot in time
