Trauma System/Injury Prevention Program Home > 2013 Statewide Trauma Tours 2013 Statewide Trauma Tours

Introduction

The Division of Trauma and Injury Prevention will be traveling the state again this year, TWICE, to update the trauma community on what the Division has been doing since the “Listening Tour” last year and to educate as many people as possible about what to expect as we continue to put together a comprehensive statewide trauma system for the State of Indiana.

Please stay tuned for updates and results from each meeting.

2013 Educational Tour

There will be two components to our first tour this year. First, we will present the activities in which we have been involved since the last time we were traveled. The “Listening Tour” last year was extremely helpful for us at the state as we began to put together the necessities for a comprehensive and active statewide trauma system. We would like to share our achievements as well as our roadblocks with all of our partners and stakeholders.

Secondly, we want to show you what we have planned for the upcoming year and receive input on our ideas so that we can maximize our effectiveness in helping you deliver care to your patients on a daily basis. Part of this component will be a presentation on a free product that we would like to make available to anyone who would like to start collecting data for quality improvement. We understand the costs associated with upgrading computers and purchasing software, and we would like to help defray those costs by presenting a completely free version of EMS run data software. We hope to show providers how valuable data collection and analysis can be for your organization, planning, budgeting and care delivery.

These events will be fun and educational. We hope you can attend at least one, but we would like to see everyone attend as many as possible. Continuing educational credits are available for many professional licenses at these events, so please let us know if you would like to take advantage of that while you are with us.

2013 Training Tour

On this second trip around the state, we will be teaching interested providers how to use the free ImageTrend software that we discussed in the first tour. This training is for anyone in any EMS role who might be responsible for collecting data, analyzing data for better results or interested in learning more about how data collection can help your organization.

This time around, we will be traveling with partners from ImageTrend so that they can give you a better understanding of how the software works and what it can do for you. We suggest that at least one person from each EMS provider attend this training to understand what will be provided and what will be expected in the future of EMS data collection.
