Types of Services

Analytical and Technical:

  • Geospatial and geostatistical analysis of health data
  • Location Intelligence:  Development and maintanence of geostpatial data
  • Automated or manual geographic coding (geocoding) of datasets
  • Application development and dynamic mapping - web or desktop
  • Professional cartographic representations and geovisualizations
  • GIS software assistance and support

Subject Matter:

  • Disease distribution and surveillance
  • Cancer incidence clustering
  • Access to care and health service distribution
  • Small area measurements and analysis
  • Situational awareness for preparedness activities
  • Population demographics

For ISDH Programs

Any program within the ISDH may contact the Public Health Geographics team for consultation, collaboration or requests for various services.  Availability of staff is dependent upon current project requests and division priorities.

Surveillance and Investigation, Public Health Preparedness, Office of Primary Care, Chronic Disease Epidemiology, Data Analyis Unit, Zoonotic and Environmental Epidemiology, Cancer Registry, Comprehensive Cancer Control, Breast and Cervical Cancer, Maternal and Child Health, Women Infants Children, Nutrition and Physical Activity, Healthy Communties, Lead and Healthy Homes, TB/Refugee, HIV/STD, Food Protection, and Local Health Outreach.

Those entities working with an ISDH program should feel free to discuss opportunities for geospatial analysis and visualizations.
