What Is The ISDH AmeriCorps Program?

The Community Health Educator/ Community Lay Health Worker AmeriCorps Program at the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) strives to empower children, families, and communities to decrease health disparities with education and information regarding good nutrition and physical activities through community-based health promotion approaches. Goal of CNOP AmeriCorps Program Members:

  • Identify organizations interested in providing community based public health initiatives

  • Expand professional development opportunities in service and community based learning

  • Provide resources and networking opportunities for community organizations, coalitions, and initiatives

CNOP Mission:

To increase public awareness of healthy eating and physical activities, to promote healthy life styles, and to prevent obesity and related chronic diseases.

Our policy is to provide equal opportunity for all. We do not discriminate in any aspect of employment or service because of race, color, sex, national origin, religion, age, mental or physical disability, sexual orientation, or any other improper criterion.
