Certified Livestock Producer Program

Get started

  1. Submit the confidential application form. ISDA will then verify that your farm is in good standing with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management and the Board of Animal Health.
  2. You will be invited to attend a one-day regional training session to receive the Certified Livestock Producer Program manual, instructions and aid in completing the program.
  3. After you have completed the manual, contact ISDA to set an appointment for an on-farm review of the completed requirements.

Training sessions

Local training sessions are offered to encourage as many farmers to participate as possible. For scheduling information, contact Ryan Westerfeld.

Topics covered at the local training sessions include:

  • Good neighbor policies
  • Biosecurity
  • Environmental updates
  • Media training
  • Emergency planning
  • Conservation opportunities
  • Food safety/Animal well-being

Species quality assurance may vary by location:

  • Pork quality assurance at all locations
  • Dairy quality assurance at Warsaw and West Lafayette
  • Beef quality assurance at Greensburg and Huntingburg
