"Hardworking Hoosiers have better things to do than wait in line for government services. IN.gov's expanded offerings and improvements are making it more convenient for citizens to conduct their business with state agencies." - Governor Mitch Daniels
As a division of the Indiana Office of Technology, the IN.gov Program is the organizational entity responsible for IN.gov. The IN.gov Program supports all state web design and development and establishes and enforces polices to ensure that IN.gov is safe, secure, and easy to-use.
First, check out recent issues of the IN.gov Update, which are available here. The Update is our bi-monthly newsletter that is sent to state agency leaders, communicators, web designers and developers, and IT personnel. IN.gov metrics are reported on a quarterly basis in the Update.
Currently, the IN.gov Program is immersed in the redesign of all state agency Web sites into the new IN.gov design standards and web content management system. By mid-2008, the State of Indiana will be the first state to have the same design across all state agency web pages. For more about this effort, click here. The IN.gov Program also recently released a request for information (RFI) seeking input from the vendor community on how to best perform a user needs analysis. Responses to the RFI are due on December 20, 2007.
State agencies and the IN.gov Program have a number of significant recent accomplishments:
As always, IN.gov customers can still pay their income taxes, reserve rooms and camping spots at state parks, register businesses and search for business entity information, update professional license information and perform criminal history searches. And, that's just the tip of the iceberg. A full list of services is available here.
The IN.gov Program hosts and ensures the security of all state agency web content and online applications on IN.gov. Web content changes and application development services are also performed as resources permit. In addition, the IN.gov Program provides web-related services to state agencies. Typically, agencies budget for the Variable Services they need; however, for special projects--"one stop" customer-focused government services--selected by the IN.gov Program, IN.gov Program funds are leveraged for such services. (Learn how to submit your special project to the IN.gov program for review.)
Variable Services include:
All requests for IN.gov Program services should be submitted via webmasters.IN.gov.
