U.S. 31 Kokomo is Now Open

Welcome

The U.S. 31 Kokomo project is a new four-lane divided limited-access rural highway that encircles Kokomo, in Howard County, to the east. The 13-mile project, which involves six new interchanges, begins just south of the Tipton/Howard county line and ends about one mile north of the U.S. 35 intersection. The freeway bypasses old U.S. 31 (renamed State Road 931) with its 15 intersections and traffic signals, which often led to traffic delays and vehicle accidents. The $155 million U.S. 31 Kokomo project opened to traffic after a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Nov. 26, 2013.
