Although the environmental study covers US 421 from County Road 550S to State Road 32, it has been determined by INDOT that adding travel lanes north of the vicinity of Indian Pipe Lane is not warranted for the foreseeable future. The portion of US 421 north of the vicinity of Indian Pipe Lane is a very much smaller scale project involving repaving and no additional land acquisition. Therefore, the project that covers the Added Travel Lanes (ATL) portion of US 421 is the portion covered on this web page.
