Crash Kills Warsaw Man

A head-on collision involving a cement truck and a pickup claimed the life of a Warsaw man.

Kevin Wright, 36, of Warsaw, died about 10:45 p.m. Monday at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne, where he was airlifted following the 9:20 a.m. accident on Fox Farm Road, about 1-1/2 miles north of Warsaw. Wright suffered head injuries and was semi-conscious and in critical condition at the scene, officials said.

According to an Indiana State Police report, the fact that Wright was wearing his seat belt did not reduce and could not prevent the severity of his injuries.

Wright was driving a State Highway Department pickup eastbound on Fox Farm Road and was attempting to turn onto CR 150W when the accident occurred. For an unknown reason, Wright crossed the center line and collided head-on with a westbound cement truck. The cement truck driver suffered a bruise to his leg, but did not require medical attention.

The Indiana State Police were assisted at the scene by the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department.
