Employee Dies
Bonnie S. Pellegrino, 53, of Rensselaer, died at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2002, in Christ Medical Center in Chicago.
Mrs. Pellegrino was injured Wednesday, July 17, 2002, when she was struck by a backing INDOT vehicle in a work zone on State Road 10 in Newton County.
She joined INDOT in September 1978 and worked as a maintenance worker in the Roselawn Unit of the Rensselaer Subdistrict. Her husband, Alex, is also employed by INDOT working in the Rensselaer Subdistrict.
The INDOT Commissioner said, “Bonnie was a hard working, respected veteran of the department. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers."
