Strategic Planning
At IGIC we recognize that planning is vital to creating a statewide GIS. Having a good strategy means
being able to take advantage of all available resources and eliminate redundant efforts. It allows us to take small
but consistent steps, setting acheivable goals and working toward them, measuring success in meaningful ways.
Developing a strategy helps build consensus and support for GIS. It also affords the opportunity to learn
from the experiences of others - best practices can be invaluable. Having a strategy means saving time and
money, and making a statewide GIS a reality.
