IndianaMap Blueprint - draft
Activities
January 17, 2008
Jill Saligoe-Simmel met with Joel Bump, Roger Koelpin and Jim Sparks concerning the Address Integration Project.
The group developed a revised "IndianaMap Blueprint" in the form of the "Data Integration and Distribution" flowchart.
Jill will talk more about this at the January Board meeting.
July 12, 2007
This was the first meeting of the newly constituted IndianaMap Committee. Some attendees are new Framework Data Workgroup
chairs, while others have participated in that role for some time. The purpose of the meeting was to review the new
IGIC committee structure, roles and responsibilities of workgroup chairs, review template data plans, and begin dialog about
an IndianaMap “blueprint.”

Joel Bump

Mike Martin
Anna Radue

Responsibility of workgroup chairs
- Reviewed new committee structure and how the activities fit together
- Reviewed website and committee pages – chairs can send activity reports to IGIC for posting to web pages; we are
working toward a system for dynamic postings by workgroup/committee chairs; members provided input on some systems
that may work for us, including bulletin boards, Woolpert PM web, and new Access Indiana capibilities – we will look
into these options
- ListServs are set up; Jill will send instructions to the committee; IGIC will keep ListServs updated
- Chairs will set meeting schedules (most will shoot for Sept timeframe to start meeting) and provide schedule to IGIC
to post on calendar
- Communications through meetings, website, listserv, and conference call (www.freeconference.com is a resource) are
all available for chairs to use at their discretion
- Templates maintain consistency as workgroups report data plans for each framework category; these were provided
and reviewed by chairs; adding a category to identify potential funding stream; templates were accepted for use by all workgroups
- Discussion and recommendations were made to combine some of the framework data workgroups into joint workgroups based on data types:
- geodetic control and elevation
- PLSS and boundaries and cadastral
- streets and addresses
The IndianaMap Blueprint is a working document to begin to develop a unified blueprint for all stakeholders working
toward the IndianaMap; this is the first draft in a series of expected revisions; draft was discussed and some
modifications made; we will present this to the IGIC board at their July meeting and begin the process of gathering
input and modifying; input is anticipated at an October meeting of local govt GIS coordinators; the objective is to
gather significant input from all stakeholders and have a final version ready by the IGIC 2008 conference in February;
pending appointment of new GIO to provide direction and leadership on the enterprise architecture, policies, etc.
