Indiana Board on Geographic Names
Mission: To maintain uniform geographic name usage throughout the state for use by local, State, and Federal government.
Objectives
- Define and govern appropriate procedures for naming and renaming geographic features.
- Provide recommendations to the U.S. Board on Geographic Names regarding Indiana names for official use.
- Review proposed name changes and provide response as requested to the U.S. Board on Geographic Names
