Needs Surveys

Welcome to the Indiana SRF Loan Program’s Web page
for the 2008 Clean Watershed Needs Survey

The Indiana Finance Authority’s State Revolving Fund (SRF) Loan Programs are seeking your assistance in documenting the capital needs for water quality projects.  SRF is now collecting information for the 2008 Clean Watersheds Needs Survey (CWNS) for the United States Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA).

Why submit your projects?

The SRF Programs receive an annual allotment from the U.S. EPA, which are then leveraged in the bond market, to provide funding to Indiana communities.  The more money we receive from the U.S. EPA the more we can loan to communities like yours.  The U.S. EPA bases their allocation to each state on the results of our Needs Surveys.

Indiana’s goal is to identify as many water quality needs as possible, so if you have a project or potential project, please call or send an email to one of the State Needs Coordinators:  Shelley Love, at (317) 232-4396 slove@ifa.in.gov or Amy Henninger, at (317) 232-6566 ahenning@ifa.in.gov to discuss.  If you have a project listed on the 2008 CWSRF Intended Use Plan Annual List, you do not have to submit documentation for that project.  However, if you have additional projects, please provide documentation.

What types of projects?

All types of water quality projects are to be documented including:

  • Wastewater treatment plants
  •  Collection systems
  •  Non-point source projects (See full list below)
  • On Site Septic tank projects

The type of information collected includes documentation of the costs projected for the projects and the population served.  Communities, and other stakeholders, can assist our efforts by providing the data required to our State Needs Coordinator.  In March, SRF sent a letter and a fact sheet to nearly 600 communities and counties requesting help with the data collection.  Click below if you wish to view or download the copies of the letter and the attachments.

Date to Remember:

Communities may continue to submit information for the U.S. EPA 2008 CWNS through June 30, 2008.
