 Volunteer Programs

Religious Services - Putnamville offers a wide variety of religious services to the offender population. Volunteers assist with services, bible studies, and weekend events.

The Purposeful Living Units Serve (PLUS) program is a faith and character-based community within the facility. The emphasis of this voluntary initiative focuses on strengthening spiritual moral and character development as well as life-skills. Volunteers are needed to provide mentoring to offenders and facilitate the classes.

Re-Entry - Re-Entry classes are given to offenders nearing their release into the community. Volunteers in the Re-Entry Department cover an array of topics that are beneficial to offenders as they prepare of their release.

Volunteer/Donation Needs

Putnamville is currently seeking volunteers to help with the following groups or programs:

  • Moorish Science Temple of America
  • Native Americans
  • Buddhist
  • Fatherhood classes
  • Jewish group
  • Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous

Putnamville is always in need of donations of clothing for those being released, specifically men's pants.
