Environmental Preferred Purchasing

State Procurement Agents are encouraged to incorporate environmentally preferrable purchasing standards into their purchasing activities. To that end, Greening the Government has put together a PowerPoint presentation that highlights the way Procurement agents can make an environmental difference.

In addition, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has a free, on-line General EPP Training Tool, which describes EPP concepts, methods, and resources in great detail. Although this EPA tool is targeted to federal purchases and requirements, the information presented is also relevant and useful for state purchasers in implementing EPP programs. The EPA's Environmentally Preferable Purchasing Website includes many more EPP resources, as well. Check out all of these sites to learn how to "Green" Indiana by making prudent purchasing decisions
