The State of Indiana recycles the following common beverage containers:

  • Aluminum & Steel Beverage Containers
  • Bottle-shaped glass Beverage Containers
  • Bottle-shaped plastic (#1,#2) Beverage Containers
  • Please empty all containers completely before recycling.

The State cannot recycle

  • Drinking glasses
  • Lids
  • Straws
  • Polystyrene foam cups
  • Plastic bags or shrink-wrap
  • Plastic #1 or #2 containers with openings the same size as the container
  • Plastic #3 through #8
